Abstract
Spasm of the near reflex is a rare clinical finding of unknown anatomi cal origin. We report the case of a 25-year-old female with recurrent spasms of the near reflex as a new type of paroxysmal phenomenon in mu ltiple sclerosis. A possible pathomechanism considering a demyelinatin g lesion in the region of the medial longitudinal fasciculus is sugges ted.
