Abstract
We analyze the spectral asymmetry due to stimulated Raman scattering in rep eaterless and amplified links of WDM optical communication systems. It is s hown that this effect depends strongly on the sign of the dispersion parame ter and dispersion slope of the fiber. Criteria for the equalization of the WDM spectra are presented.
