Abstract
Using triol 1 as a representative example of natural products containing tw o contiguous propionate units, C-13 and H-1 NMR databases for the stereoche mical assignment of acyclic compounds have been created. Chemical shift inc rements due to the presence of additional functional groups as well as solv ent effects are discussed.
