Abstract
A rapid clonal propagation system has been developed for Litsea cubeba. Fol lowing investigation of a range of cytokinins and a variety of explant sour ces (shoot tip, node, leaf and petiole) it was established that 6-benzylade nine with shoot tip explants gave optimal multiple-shoot induction. In vitr o rooting on growth-regulator-free medium was possible and over 100 plantle ts were successfully weaned to the glasshouse.
