Abstract
Magnetizations and the temperature dependence of susceptibility for several kinds of Co-based Laves-phase metamagnets have been investigated. A univer sal linear relation between the critical field of the metamagnetic transiti on, B-C, and the inverse of susceptibility-maximum, chi(T-max)(-1), was dem onstrated. The root-mean amplitude of spin fluctuations at the susceptibili ty-maximum temperature, xi(p)(T-max), was estimated to be about 0.4 mu(B)/C o from the B-C-chi(T-max)(-1) relation on the basis of the spin fluctuation theory for itinerant-electron metamagnets.
