Abstract
A one-dimensional model for the transport of a plasma with two ion species across the magnetic field in a steady-state volume negative-ion source is p roposed. The conditions in the magnetic filter adjacent to the plasma elect rode optimum for the generation, formation, and extraction of an H-/D- ion beam are found. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the expe rimental data. (C) 2000 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".
