Abstract
To increase the sensitivity of the photoionization diagnostics, efficient l aser systems for plasma probing are developed based on stable resonator con figurations with small diffraction loss. The systems meet the requirements for multipass intracavity probing and make it possible to increase the reso nator length to conform to a large size of the tokamak chamber. Demonstrati on experiments were carried out in the FT-1 tokamak. The results obtained c onfirm the possibility of reliable measurements of the hydrogen neutral den sity in the range 10(8)-10(9) cm(-3) in tokamak plasmas. (C) 2000 MAIK "Nau ka/Interperiodica".
