Abstract
A correlation was shown to exist between the velocity of impulsing discharg e from the anode, shock-wave parameters, electric-field strength, elastic p roperties, and the probability of ionization in the valence band of insulat ing solids. Using NaCl and KCl crystals as examples, a quantitative estimat ion of these dependences was performed for the interval of discharge speeds of 5 x 10(3)-10(6) m/s.
