The conductance fluctuations deltaG of superconducting squares are exa
mined. In the diffusive and strongly disordered regimes, deltaG increa
ses as the superconducting order parameter DELTA is increased from zer
o, reaching a maximum when the superconducting coherence length is of
order the localisation length of the normal background. In weakly diso
rdered systems, deltaG decreases monotonically with increasing DELTA.
