Single crystals of mixed sillenites Bi-12 Ti1-x Pb-x O-20 were grown using
the top seeded solution growth method. The pulse illumination was used to s
tudy the phototransport properties of these crystals. It was evidenced that
the illumination changed the photoconducting properties by 4-5 orders of m
agnitude comparing with previously studied Bi-12 MeO20, where Me = Ge, Si,
Ti. The performed experiments indicate on the photogeneration of metallic g
rains in the insulating matrix of Bi-12 Ti1-x Pb-x O-20. Correlations betwe
en photochromism and photoconductivity was established.
