Abstract
We have investigated the resonant third-order nonlinear optical properties of a new subphthalocyanine (bromoboron trineopentyloxy-subphtharocyanine) u sing picosecond degenerate four-wave mixing. The measured chi(pure)((3)) wa s 6.9 X 10(-10) esu. The second hyperpolarizability [gamma] value is 3.0 X 10(-3)esu. The response time of chi(3) was determined to be less than the r esolution of optical pulse duration (< 35 ps).
