DESIGN CONCEPTS FOR SLAB CASTER MODERNIZA TION

In connection with the objectives of higher productivity and quality, modernization projects of slab casters concern both the easter design and its operation. This paper examines successively the modernization of the head-of the easter, the automatic width adjustment during casti ng, the change of the easier profile[the strand containment equipment, improved control of secondary cooling, increased automation and proce ss control.
