Abstract
The electric are furnace steelmaking route causes changes in metallurg ical properties, influenced by tramp elements from scrap. Tests show t hat the evolution of the composition of oxide scale makes no differenc e on the pickling line. However, a statistical study of the mechanical properties after hot dip galvanization reveals differences between el ectric and oxygen steelmaking routes.
