L. Viellard et al., EFFECT OF ELECTRIC-ARC FURNACE STEELMAKIN G ON THE PROPERTIES OF HOT-DIP GALVANIZED LOW-CARBON STEEL SHEETS, Revue de métallurgie, 94(4), 1997, pp. 541
The electric are furnace steelmaking route causes changes in metallurg
ical properties, influenced by tramp elements from scrap. Tests show t
hat the evolution of the composition of oxide scale makes no differenc
e on the pickling line. However, a statistical study of the mechanical
properties after hot dip galvanization reveals differences between el
ectric and oxygen steelmaking routes.
