Abstract
This study, performed in April 1995, addresses the distribution of macrozoo benthos in two sectors of the Eastern Brazilian continental margin. The rel ationship between the distribution of macrobenthos and the sediment variabl es was determined by cluster analysis, discriminant analysis and Spearman r ank correlation. The results showed five clusters of stations with differen t sediment characteristics. These groups were strongly correlated with the depth gradient. The macrozoobenthos was distributed in three groups that co rrelated with different sediment types.
