PENTAAMMINENITROCOBALT(III) CHLORIDE NITRATE AT 290 K AND 150 K

The structure of the title compound, [Co(NO2)(NH3)(5)]Cl(No-3), was de termined at 290K and 150K using the same crystal, The general structur al pattern was shown to be similar to that previously reported by Podb erezskaya, Virovets & Boldyreva [Russ, J. Struct, Chem. (1991), 32, 89 -95] for 290K, but the space group at the two temperatures was shown t o be Pnam, not Pna2(1) as reported previously, Large anisotropic struc tural distortion was observed on cooling, but the space group and the general structural pattern remain the same.
