There are several different error forms generated simultaneously by digital
filters. Owing to their inherent coexistence, verification against the the
oretical values has always been difficult. A spectral technique is presente
d for separating the deterministic and the stochastic error components in t
he output signal of a digital filter, thus allowing evaluation of the indiv
