Abstract
Insulin resistance, an impaired biological response to either exogenous or endogenous insulin occurs in a majority of the diabetic population with typ e II diabetes. One of the current approaches for treating insulin resistanc e associated with NIDDM is the use of insulin sensitizing agents. Elucidati on of the mechanism(s) of these agents may provide new targets for which se lective ligands with better efficacy and low toxicity can be found. (C) 199 9 Prous Science. All rights reserved.
