Abstract
The thermo-mechanical analysis of a solidification process has been present ed to predict an air gap width. The air gap width value has been used to ap proximate the interfacial heat transfer coefficients. The Lewis-Ransing cor relation has been used to link the stress model with an optimization model for the optimal feeding design. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights r eserved.
