Abstract
The time-dependent diffraction radiation is treated for an impulsive plane wave incident on a conducting wedge. The problem is a two-dimensional canon ical problem with closed analytical solutions. Two different approaches are presented: The "conical flow" method based on conformal mapping and a solu tion based on the time-dependent Green's function. The diffracted fields ar e shown for different geometries.
