Abstract
Poly(ethylene terephthalate) and poly(butylene terephthalate) filament s were pretreated with different solvents under identical conditions t o observe their effect on various properties such as swelling, moistur e regain and dyeability. The effect of solvents was found to be more p ronounced on the polyethylene than on the polybutylene ester. The resu lts have been explained on the basis of the structural differences bet ween the two polyesters.
