Hi. Kim et al., AGE-HARDENING ASSOCIATED WITH PRECIPITATION REACTION AND SPINODAL DECOMPOSITION IN A COMMERCIAL DENTAL LOW-CARAT AU-AG-CU-PD ALLOY, Journal of materials science. Materials in medicine, 8(6), 1997, pp. 333-339
Two distinguishable hardening mechanisms, depending on the temperature
, were found by isothermal ageing in a commercial dental low-carat Au-
Ag-Cu-Pd alloy. Age-hardening was attributed to the precipitation of t
he metastable AuCu I' and equilibrium AuCu I ordered phases and spinod
al decomposition depending on the ageing temperature. It was clearly v
isible, by using the direct-ageing method, that the XRD peaks of the p
arent phases showed a shift during transformation.
