Two hundred patients (83 men, 117 women, age 39-75 years, mean age 60,2+/-8
,9 years) with acute coronary syndrome were randomly assigned to 2 treatmen
t groups. Patients of group 1 (n=100) received nadroparin subcutaneously (1
5000 AXa IU o.d.) for 7 days and ticlopidine (250 mg b.i.d.). Patients of g
roup 2 (n=100) received standard heparin (average dose 20000 IU/day) also f
or 7 days and aspirin (125 mg o.d.). Results of therapy assessed by repetit
ive Holter ECC monitoring were similar in both groups. Episodes of ST-segme
nt depression completely disappeared in 25-30% of patients. Episodes of pai
nless ST-segment depression persisted in 20-22% of patients but these patie
nts no more had symptomatic ST-segment depressions. Overall number of episo
des of ST-segment depression, both symptomatic and asymptomatic, decreased
by 2-2,5 times (p<0,05). Pest results were obtained in patients with angina
of new onset: complete disappearance of episodes of ST-segment depression
occurred in 75% of patients of group 1 and in 50% of patients of group 2. E
pisodes of painless ST-segment depression persisted in only 10 and 40% of p
atients in groups 1 and 2, respectively.
