Abstract
An extensive Monte Carlo simulation on the melting transition of the t wo-dimensional flux line lattice (FLL) is presented. It is found that the melting transition is of first-order while the transition temperat ure is close to that estimated from elastic theory assuming the Koster litz-Thouless melting transition.
