Abstract
We report the thermomagnetic history of field-cooled magnetization in conventional hard type-II superconductor (Nb) and in high-T(c) superco nductor (single crystal of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+y). Among various procedures to locate the irreversibility line, the one generally used is the merg er of zero-field-cooled magnetization (M(ZFC) and field-cooled magneti zation (M(FC)). The thermomagnetic history of M(FC) provides the merge r of M(ZFC) and M(FC) at two points (one while cooling down, T(r)c(H), and other while warming up, T(r)w(H)) at the same field.
