Abstract
Many patients with premature coronary artery disease do not have elevated L DL cholesterol levels, instead, they have elevated triglycerides or low hig h-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol levels (or both). Data suggest that intervention to modulate these lipoprotein fractions may reduce cardiovasc ular risk.
