Abstract
The first synthesis of parent pentaoxa-[5]-peristylane, from a readily available and stereochemically well-defined norbornene precursor, emp loying a cascade of intramolecular acetalizations as the stratagem, is reported. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
