Abstract
It is shown that Sole filter structure under certain conditions of the alte rnating anisotropic layers acts as a perfect reflector at all angles, any p olarization and over a wide spectral range thus can act as a photonic band gap structure. Near this behavior a total 90 degrees polarization rotation is obtained upon reflection over a large range of angles or wavelengths. (C ) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
