Abstract
[GRAPHICS] Cyclohexylidene-protected diphosphinite-Rh complex A derived from alpha,alp ha'-trehalose was treated with acidic resin in methanol to get the unprotec ted complex B, which is water soluble. Preparation of complexes A-C and the ir applications for hydrogenations show the problems and prospects of using water as a solvent for these reactions.
