Abstract
[GRAPHICS] Farnesyl diphosphate (FPP) synthase from Escherichia coli catalyzes the con densation of isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) and geranyl diphosphate (GPP) wi th selective removal of the pro-R hydrogen at C2 of IPP, the same stereoche mistry observed for the pig liver, yeast, and avian enzymes.
