Abstract
[GRAPHICS] The E- and Z-vinylogous sulfonates of beta-phenylcinnamyl alcohol derivativ es 1 and 2 undergo rapid and enantioselective palladium-catalyzed allylic a lkylation (greater than or equal to 90% ee) with the palladium complex of t he phosphino-1,3-oxazine 3 and sodium salt of dimethyl malonate.
