Abstract
We describe here a fully automated system for magnetic anisotropy study ope rating in the field range +/- 8 T, between 1.8 and 300 K. The three compone nts of the magnetization are simultaneously measured, using the flux extrac tion method, through three sets of orthogonal pickup coils. The sample is f ixed on a rod which enables its vertical movement for the magnetization mea surement and its rotation around a horizontal axis, perpendicular to the ma gnetic field, with a precision of about 1 degrees. The sensitivity of the m easurements is 10(-7) A m(2) along the vertical axis and 5x10(-7) A m(2) al ong the horizontal axes. (C) 2000 American Institute of Physics. [S0034-674 8(00)01302-2].
