Abstract
A number of 2-hydroxyorganophosphines HOCH(R-1)CH(R-2)PH2 2 have been obtai ned in good yields by reaction of oxiranes with sodium monophosphide, gener ated in situ from red phosphorus, sodium and tert-butyl alcohol in liquid a mmonia.
