Abstract
Acetals of different alcohols with (+)-camphor derived enantiomerically pur e 7,8,8-trimethyl-4,7-methanobenzofuran-2-ol were prepared and subjected to conditions favorable for a [1,2]-Wittig rearrangement. Results with regard to conversion, yield and stereochemical course depending on the structure of the starting material are discussed. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
