Abstract
Chromosomes of the figitid Callaspidia defonscolombei Dahlbom (Cynipoidea) were studied for the first time. Eleven: bivalents were observed in this sp ecies during meiosis (n = 11); three of them have chiasmata in each of the two arms forming ring-like figures in diplotene. The remaining bivalents ar e cross- and rod-like, having only one chiasma per bivalent.
