Abstract
The orthorhombic cell of tribarium tantalum arsenate, Ba3TaAs3O, contains p seudo-tetrahedral TaAs3O6- anions surrounded by Ba2+ cations. This forms a three-dimensional network of interconnected trigonal prisms. The compound i s isostructural with Ba3NbAs3O and Eu3TaAs3O.
