Abstract
The revolution in the basic science of molecular cell biology, combined wit h advances in polymer science and engineering, is pushing the field of biom aterials into new applications and an era of molecular design. New classes of degradable polymers and hydrogels are bring developed and teamed with mo lecular ligands to control specific cell behaviors.
