Abstract
The characterization of an elastic tube can be done on the basis of its red uced cut-off frequencies of circumferential waves scattered around the tube and of its transversal sound velocity. The Wigner-Ville time-frequency rep resentation, that takes into account both the time parameter and the freque ncy parameter of a signal, is used in this work to access to the sought par ameters. Ln this article, the Wigner-Ville method is applied to acoustic si gnals scattered by a thin aluminium tube. The transversal velocity, estimat ed by the Wigner-Ville image, is in good agreement with the transversal sou nd in velocity aluminium given in the scientific litterature.
