Abstract
Manual leaf feeding in two-directional action on 'raspador' decorticat or is followed for fibre extraction, which restricts increase in its l ow capacity and unable to extract fibre from the leaf having marginal prickles. One-directional leaf feeding process was tested and showed f ibre recovery equal to the two-directional action. Mechanical leaf fee ding in one- directional action on 'raspador' decorticator was found f easible. The provision of a 'handle' (undecorticated butt-and) helps i n washing, drying and cleaning of fibre.
