Abstract
The infrastructure and organization of hospitals are changing rapidly as a result of major transitions in health care. Downsizing in hospitals has cau sed employees to have to rake on new tasks and, often, multiple tasks with a decrease in available resources and an increase in job complexity. Natura lly, such organizational changes have a profound effect on the nature and d uration of patient hospitalization and on the job responsibilities and role s of inpatient staff. In many hospitals, there is a perception of chaos, so metimes resulting in frustration among the nursing personnel. The purpose o f this study was to describe the relationship between nurses' job satisfact ion and organizational climate. Copyright (C) 2000 by W.B. Saunders Company .
