Investment decision and control system for access planning

This article describes the development and integration of systems to suppor t investment decisions made by BT network planners. The first, designed by the planners themselves, led to the development of a new decision model for network planning. The system provides information on geography, revenue, f orecasts, volumes, fault rate, spare network capacity and network capabilit y. It has integrated reports from management information systems and applie d intelligence to implement the planning rides and investment decisions at local level.
