Abstract
A new oleanene glucuronide called melilotus-saponin O-2 (1) was isolated to gether with three known ones (soyasaponin I, astragaloside VIII, wistariasa ponin D) from the aerial Darts of Melilotus officinalis (L,) PALLAS (Legumi nosae). The structure of 1 was determined to be 3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl -(1-->2)-beta-D-xylopyranosyl-( 1-->2)-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl melilotige nin by; spectroscopic and chemical methods.
