In a continuation of investigations of proanthocyanidins of the roots of Rh
odiola pamiroalaica, we have isolated proanthocyanidins RP-3 and RP-4. Thei
r compositions, structures, and relative configurations have been investiga
ted: RP-3 is 7-O-(6-O-galloyl-beta-D-Glcp)-3-O-galloyl-(-)-epigallocatechin
-(4 beta-8)-[(-)epicatechin-(4 beta-8)-(3-O-galloyl-(-)-epigallocatechin)](
2)-(4 beta-8)-[5-O-(beta-D-Glcp) (6) under right arrow O-beta-D-Glcp)-(+)-c
atechin], and RP-4 is 7-O-(6-O-galloyl-beta-D-Glcp-3-O-galloyl-(-)-epigallo
catechin-(4 beta-8)-[3-O-galloyl-(-)-epicatechin]-(4 beta-8)-[3-O-galloyl-(
-)-epigallocatechin]-(4 beta-8)-[3-O-galloyl-(-)-epicatechin]-(4 beta-8)-[3
