Abstract
Results of an experimental investigation of the mechanism of interaction of BaO and MoO3 in a combustion wave are reported. It is shown that a necessa ry stage of the interaction is the sublimation of MoO3. Thermal and x-ray p hase analyses suggest a multistep scheme for the interaction of the oxides, in which the formation of an instable intermediate phase plays an importan t part.
