Abstract
This contribution is dealing with evaluation of the Danubian floodplain for ests - it means soft, transitional and hard floodplain forests - regarding to their origin, tree composition and influence of forest management, mainl y planting of cultivated poplars. Special attention is devoted to impact of the Gabcikovo hydropower plant to floodplain forests of the Danubian lowla nd.
