Abstract
Wavelength insensitive operation of a Fabry-Perot laser integrated with a M ach-Zchnder modulator is demonstrated, in an external fibre grating configu ration from 1540 to 1560nm. The threshold current is similar to 40mA with 0 .2mW output power coupled into a fibre at 80mA. Open eye diagrams at 2.5 an d 10Gbit/s as well as transmission at 2.5Gbit/s with negative penalty have been obtained.
