Abstract
WDM transmission of 640Gbit/s (64 x 10Gbit/s) over 10,127km is demonstrated using an L-band erbium-doped fibre amplifier (EDFA). The L-band EDFAs have a total spectral bandwidth of 26.4nm on an ITU-T grid.
