Abstract
The synthesis of 5-butyl-3,5-diaryl-4,5-dihydro-1,2,4-oxadiazoles is descri bed. The present work also describes the discovery of a reaction leading to the conversion of 5-butyl-5-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1,2,4-o xadiazole (1d) to 4,4-dibutyl-2-phenylbenzo-1,3-oxazine (3).
