Abstract
The objective of these experiments was to determine the effect of feed fres hness on intake and performance of suckling and weaned pigs. Suckling and w eaned pigs were offered fresh, 30-day-old or 60-day-old commercial creep an d link diets. Creep-feed intake and growth rate of suckling pigs was not af fected by freshness. Feed intake, weight gain and feed conversion efficienc y of weaned pigs were unaffected by the age of feed. It is concluded that s torage of starter and link diets for periods up to 2 months after manufactu re had no adverse effect on feed intake or animal performance.
