Abstract
Formation constants of Na+, Mg2+, and Ca2+ complexes of azelaic and diethyl enetrioxydiacetic acids have been determined by potentiometry (H+ --glass e lectrode) at different ionic strengths (0 less than or equal to I less than or equal to 1 mol dm(-3)), at t = 25 degrees C. For all the systems the sp ecies ML and MHL have been found. The relative formation constants are repo rted together with the parameters for the dependence on ionic Strength. Res ults are discussed in comparison with those for other carboxylic ligands. S peciation problems are considered also.
