Abstract
Fabrication of flexible polymer based Ag electrodes using porous PVC materi al as inert support and modification of the the electrode with a thin coati ng of poly phenylene oxide (PPO) are presented. Electrochemical parameters for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in alkaline media onto these electrodes using cyclovoltamogram have been determined. Electrocatalytic activities o f these fabricated Ag electrodes towards ORR are found to enhance significa ntly. The results are well explained interms of better utilization of activ e materials due to porous structure of these electrodes. Further developmen t of these electrodes for fuel cell applications has been indicated.
